    Board Apostolate:     

The Board is made up of faithful Catholic men and women committed to obedience to our Holy Father and the Teaching Magisterium of the Roman Catholic Church. This commitment is signed by all in leadership on apostolate and ministry teams. The Board is fully incorporated and a non-profit, tax-exempt organization under 501(3)(c) of the tax code.

The Bethesda Healing Ministry Board Apostolate is discerned for membership through a process of formation in the spirituality and apostolic charism, Mission and Vision of Bethesda. It is believed that one must wash the feet of each other before one can wash the feet of those who come. The Board Apostolate specifically serves Jesus Christ by reaching out to His wounded children. This is done through prayer, administrative consult, volunteer involvement, financial and actual Ministry support.

Membership on the Board is through submission of name(s) to the Founder and Board Apostolate. Candidates serve a three month discernment peroid before election to the Apostolate. Board apostolate members must be actively involved in their Catholic faith. All individuals must indicate a willingness to be active and are expected to attend the regular monthly Board Meeting. Apostolate are elected to either a two or three year term and may be renewed for an additional term at the direction and invitation of the Apostolate Board team.

Core Leadership Team:
Meets monthly on the 1st Monday of the month, 12am-2pm All meetings begin in our chapel in prayer.

The Core Leadership Team is made up of Founder, participating staff, Companions Coordinator) Newsletter editor, Image graphics director, Ministry facilitators, Volunteer Coordinator (Raphael’s Hands). With the exception of very part time staff, all leadership members serve Bethesda gratis.

The Core Team is charged to be the catalyst with review, brain storming, planning and project service brought to the Board Apostolate for approval and action. The Core team collaborates with the Board Apostolate on all outreach, financial and community ministry projects which include the Newsletter, Annual Benefit, Community Health Fairs, Public Speaking and Five Porticos Hospitality.

Pastoral Leadership Team: Meets from 6:00 – 8:30 p.m. the third Monday of each month. All meetings begin in our chapel in prayer.

This team is comprised of Bethesda Companions who have evidenced personal, emotional and spiritual growth within the ministry for the minimum of a 1-6 years. The individual has been discerned and prayerfully invited to serve on this spiritual pastoral support team. Such individuals evidence persevering attendance at Healing sessions, retreats, additional formation, and interpersonal maturity. Our Companions continue their healing through participation in the Sacramental life of the Church, continued use of our Manual for healing, acting as group facilitators, retreat speakers, mentoring new comers and pastoral discernment, public speaking and support of the Mission and Vision of Bethesda Healing Ministry.

The pastoral team members are recommended by Founder and existing PLT members. Ministry priest chaplains and seminarians on academic assignment to Bethesda also serve on this team.

The Pastoral Leadership Team is charged with spiritual pastoral stewardship of the Mission of Bethesda Healing Ministry. The function of pastoral leadership team is that of spiritual stewardship. It is of great importance that the individuals on this team is the protection of the Mission of the Ministry. The team is significantly involved in the spiritual/pastoral perspective aspects of members within and protection of the Catholic Christian identity and integrity in the community at large. The leadership of the Pastoral Leadership team is at all times subject to the wisdom and direction of our Bishop Frederick Campbell, Ordinary of the Columbus Diocese as well as priest Chaplains: Fr. Dean Mathewsen, Fr. William Ferguson, Fr. Joseph Yokum and Board chaplain Father Joseph Klee. For more information contact Judy Schlueter (614-309-0157.
